The Happy Man

His first job was shining shoes.
In Boston. At age 13.

He worked for the next 65 years.

He was also married to my mother for 65 years.

I don’t know which was the more impressive accomplishment.

But my father was, by all accounts, a happy man.

And a funny man.

A man who could do anything.

And a man who would do anything for you.

He enjoyed life more than anyone I have ever known.

Food was, of course, key.

But so was family.

That’s my Cugino (John D’Ambrosio) in the middle.

Today is my father’s birthday.

So I wanted to thank him once again.
For his wonderful example.

Happy Birthday, Dad.

I’m still learning.
