Latitudes With Attitudes

It’s those changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes
Nothing remains quite the same.

Just below Port Lockroy in Antarctica.

64.53 degrees South.
The end of the line.

For us. This time.

We have made the turn.
And are headed back up.

Past Cape Horn.
55.98 degrees South.

Which is actually an island.

Belonging to Chile.

To Ushuaia, Argentina.

54.80 degrees South.
The world’s southernmost city.

Then fly to Buenos Aires.
34.60 degrees South.

It will be hot.

Then it’s back to 42.36 degrees North.
Otherwise known as Boston.
For me.

Alla is headed all the way up to 51.50 degrees North.
Otherwise known as London.

Which is a totally different attitude.

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
Little Gidding

The trip of a lifetime?

Sure.

For now.
